        Close After Effects, double-click Install SilkFX.bat (Windows) or Install SilkFX.command (Mac), and paste your key. It downloads the latest SilkFX.

      Is it a subscription?
      No. SilkFX costs $8 once. You activate it one time with the license key from your Payhip receipt, and after that it works offline too.
      
          
      How do I get it after paying?
      The checkout emails you a download link straight after payment. Keep that email: you can use the link to download it again. You don't need a Payhip account.
      
          
      How do updates work?
      SilkFX checks for a new version each time you open the panel. When one is out, click Update and it installs and reloads itself. Your key is already saved, so you never type it again.
      
          
      Can I use it on more than one computer?
      Yes, on up to 3 of your own computers. Activate each one with the same license key. Reinstalling or updating on a computer doesn't use up another slot.
      
          
      Does it work without internet?
      Yes. It needs internet once to install and activate, then quietly re-checks your key every few days when you're online. In between, it keeps working offline for up to 30 days. Sound effects download the first time you use them (internet needed once per sound pack), then stay on your computer.
      
          
      Will projects open on a machine without SilkFX?
      Yes. SilkFX only adds native animators, expressions, built-in effects and layer styles, so the animation travels with the project file.
      
          
      Can I edit an animation after applying it?
      Yes. Animators and expressions are ordinary After Effects properties. To change the preset's settings, re-apply it with new values; it replaces the old version instead of stacking a copy.
      
          
      Why does the installer change a setting?
      After Effects only loads unsigned panels when CEP's PlayerDebugMode flag is on. The installer turns it on for your user account only (the HKCU registry on Windows, your user preferences on Mac), nothing system-wide.
      
          
      Is there a Mac version?
      Yes. Your purchase includes a Windows installer and a Mac installer, and updates reach both automatically. On Mac, if it says the installer is from an unidentified developer, right-click Install SilkFX.command, choose Open, then Open again.
      
          
      How do I remove it?
